Product Summary
The ImageCard® HiFX™ card printer takes full-color printing to new heights with the latest innovation in print technology. Instead of printing directly on the card surface, color images and text are printed onto a specially designed film that is then bonded to the surface of the card. The ImageCard HiFX lets you take full advantage of:
Tru Edge™ Printing: Because images are printed on a separate film, colors can go over the edge of the card, giving you full-color cards with no white border.
Tru Image™ Color: With the ability to print 16.7 million shades of color, your photos and images will be more vibrant and true-to-life than ever.
Multiple Card Types: While the ImageCard HiFX is great for printing standard PVC cards, it really shines at printing exceptional quality images on specialty cards such as PET, polycarbonate or ABS cards; cards that may have uneven surfaces, such as proximity cards and smart cards; or cards with a matte or rough finish.
Superior Durability and Security
Because the graphics and text are printed on the underside of the transfer film, the image exists between the highly durable film and the card stock. This results in a tamper-proof card that is far more resistant to abrasion than a standard surface-printed plastic card. Printing on the underside of the transfer film also eliminates color migration to plastic ID holders. Registered holographic transfer film options also are available to help maintain the security of your card program.
Software included
The ImageCard HiFX solution includes ID Works™ Standard Edition - Datacard's premier software package for card design and production. ID Works gives you everything you need to design and produce photo IDs.
Easy to use
The ImageCard HiFX is designed for easy, user-friendly operation. The printer features simple, drop-in ribbon reloading with large, internal card hoppers to protect your blank card stock. The ImageCard HiFX also offers a bi-directional communication with your PC. The printer communicates with the PC to help the operator troubleshoot operating errors. The ImageCard HiFX even identifies cards with printing errors, reprints the card, and rejects the defective card automatically into a separate reject card tray. This saves you the trouble of sorting through finished cards to pick out and reprint the errors yourself.
